Hattie Murphy Obituary
AIKEN - Mrs. Hattie Altman Murphy, age 79, beloved wife of 62 years to Mr. James Murphy, entered into rest on Saturday October 22, 2022. In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Lynne (Jay) Pitzer, Michael (Jennifer) Murphy; grandchildren, Grayson Pitzer, Noah Murphy and Matthew Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Martha Lee Franklin Altman; sister, Lois Scott; and brothers, Harold Lamb and Jack Gary. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy. A funeral service honoring her life will be held on Wednesday October 26, 2022 in chapel of Napier Funeral Home at 11am with Pastor Kenneth Murphy officiating. The interment will immediatley follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Graniteville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Matthew Murphy, Noah Murphy, Brian Thompson, Jason Redd, Dale Lamb Tim Scott and Patrick Thompson. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wanda Thompson, who is a niece, for her care and compassion to Mrs. Murphy during her time of illness, along with the caregivers of Kindred Hospice. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Church In Memory of Mrs. Hattie Murphy at: www.mercyforaiken.org Napier Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.

As the writer, Fitzgearld once wrote, "The moving finger writes and, having writ, moves on...". The message Mrs. Murphy wrote is one of kindness, commitment to family and love of friends.
