Harry Schultz Obituary

Harry Bruce Schultz
AIKEN - Harry Bruce Schultz, son of the late Harry A. Schultz and Barbara Richardson Schultz, passed away peacefully in his home on July 2, 2025, with his sister Penny and best friend and adopted brother, Rene, by his side. Bruce passed after a brief, unexpected illness.
Bruce was a 1978 graduate of Aiken High School, where he was editor of the Hornet Herald and a founding president of YARC (Youth Association of Retarded Citizens). Bruce helped bring the Special Olympic Games to Aiken and took a group of special needs children to the Special Olympic Games in Washington, DC.
Bruce worked in the Nuclear Industry at various sites to include Savannah River Site in Aiken, Oak Ridge Laboratory in TN, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Denver, Colorado, Cape Canaveral, Delta Space Launch the latest being Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
There, Bruce was adopted by his California family, who loved and adored him and made him the family patriarch. Rene, his brothers and sisters quickly adopted Bruce; they were his loyal Mexican family and had dinners at his house every Sunday and cooked his favorite foods. He will be dearly missed by Rene, Ronco, Oscar, Michelle, Dafne, Ariel, and Mamita Tolentino.
Bruce moved back to Aiken after retirement and resumed life on his farm. He was able to reach his lifelong dream and visit Hawaii in 2021 to see all of its beauty.
Bruce was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Andy and Margurette Anderson, and George Schultz. His maternal grandparents, Jim and Eula Lee Richardson, a nephew, William Spencer Marshall, Jr., and his father, Harry A. Schultz. Left to cherish Bruce's memory is his mother, Barbara R. Schultz, sisters, Penny Schultz Stanford (Greg), Rose S. Marshall, nephews, Harry Logan Marshall (Corrin Halter), Joshua Ethen Lowe, niece, Barbara Taylor Abelar (Zak), a special aunt and uncle Clint and Blanche Schultz and his loyal companion Basset Hound Missy Stinky Bait Schultz and a host of other friends, cousins and relatives.
Bruce's biggest joy in life was helping others succeed. This world was definitely a better place because Bruce Schultz was a part of it.
