Hal Shreck Obituary

Hal Shreck AIKEN, SC HAROLDENE ANNE "HAL" SHRECK, beloved wife of Bill Shreck, died Monday, December 17, 2018 at her residence. Born in Borger, TX, Hal was a daughter of the late Harold and Ida Keeney Heeren. She grew up in Nebraska and graduated from Doane College in Crete, NE. She and Bill lived in Collinsville, IL where she taught remedial reading to underprivileged children for many years before pursuing her career as a pianist. Hal played extensively throughout Colorado and in Santa Fe, NM before settling in Hilton Head. She continued playing around Hilton Head and on Daufuskie Island. Hal and Bill moved to Aiken 15 years ago and she continued her passion by volunteering at Cumberland Village entertaining the residents. She was a major supporter of the Aiken Center for the Arts and for many years, performed every Tuesday evening at The Willcox. She's survived by her husband of 64 years, Bill; two daughters, Anne Dillow, Edwardsville, IL, Robin Greenberg, St. Louis, MO and a grandson, Jonathan Dillow, St. Louis. A Celebration of Hal's Life will take place Thursday afternoon, December 27th at 4 o'clock at Shellhouse Rivers Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Tim McClendon officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Aiken County Animal Shelter (www.fotasaiken.org). SHELLHOUSE RIVERS FUNERAL HOME, 715 EAST PINE LOG RD., AIKEN, SC
