Beverly Henley Obituary

Beverly Janette Henley, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in her hometown of Vancouver, Washington. She was 77 years old.

Beverly was the daughter of Richard McBride Hanning and Evelyn Hanning Hunt. She graduated from Evergreen High School in 1966 & remained deeply rooted in her community throughout her life.

Beverly worked as a proofreader and lay-up editor at The Columbian and The Oregonian newspapers-positions she took great pride in and truly enjoyed. Her love for the written word extended into her personal life as well. She was a gifted calligrapher, painter in both oil and watercolor, and a thoughtful poet. Beverly also pursued her faith with quiet strength, having attended Bible College and developed a deep and abiding knowledge of the Scriptures.

She is survived by her four sons-Adam, Christopher, Jason, and Troy-and by her siblings: Melvin and David Hanning, Marilyn Hines and Alice Davies. Beverly was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brothers Ronald Hanning and James Hunt.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Manor Wilson Bridge Cemetery (6906 NE 144th St, Vancouver, WA 98686). A reception will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Barberton Grange Hall (9400 NE 72nd Ave, Vancouver, WA 98665). All who knew Beverly are warmly invited to attend.
