Grace Schinskey
GRANITEVILLE - Mrs. Grace Walker Schinskey, 91, of Graniteville, SC, beloved wife of Mr. Tom Schinskey, entered into rest on Friday, December 15, 2017.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Tommie and Lucille Snipes Kirkland. She retired Bath Mill, as a Switchboard Operator, after thirty-six years of service. Mrs. Schinskey was a charter member of Hillview Baptist Church, Graniteville, SC. During her life she served in many facets at her church and her community helping others. Her ministry was writing daily cards and letters to friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her step-children and their spouses, Soraya and Timothy Johnston, Reevesville, SC and Tom and Sherry Schinskey, Midway, GA; a niece, Hazel Tatman, Aiken, SC; as well as several great-nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren, Roger Johnston and Angela Johnston and a number of step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Walker and brothers and their wives, James and Lorice Kirkland and Bryce and Edna Kirkland.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, beginning at 1 o'clock at Hillview Baptist Church, 1974 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 o'clock. Pastors Landon Williams and Charles Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Larry Shealey, Glenn Sanders, Jimmy Splawn, Joe Clary and Tom Schinskey, II, are asked to serve as pallbearers.
At the request of Mrs. Schinskey, instead of sending floral tributes, please make memorials in her memory to Hillview Baptist Church, 1974 Jefferson Davis Hwy. Graniteville, SC.

A very near & dear friend of my Mother, Mildred Eidson.She spoke of Mrs. Schinskey often.In fact she spoke at my Mothers Funeral Service at Hilltop Bapbist church in 2002.
