GLENN McCORMICK Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Glenn Edwards McCormick, Jr., MD, beloved husband of Bonnie Ritter McCormick, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
A native of Wyoming, Ohio, Glenn was a son of the late Glenn Edwards McCormick, Sr. and Margaret Brooks McCormick. Glenn proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He did both his undergraduate and medical studies at Emory University where he graduated in 1956.
He served his residency at Duke University and spent one year working at the Emory Clinic. Glenn operated his own dermatology practice from 1963 until 1996 in Decatur, GA.
After retiring from private practice, he moved to Beaufort, SC and has made Aiken, SC his home for the past fourteen years.
In Aiken, Glenn volunteered for Christ Central Ministries and was a member of Woodside Plantation Country Club where he enjoyed playing both tennis and golf.
Survivors include his wife of forty years, Bonnie Ritter McCormick; a daughter, Aileen McCormick; a sister, Martha Lee Van Pelt; a brother, Dwight McCormick; his mother-in-law, Clarice Ritter; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Leslie Ritter; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Glenn was predeceased by two sons, Eddie McCormick and Steve McCormick and a daughter, Dorothy McCormick.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, E. Pine Log Road. The Reverend Fred W. Andrea III officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Glenn was a loving and faithful volunteer who came weekly and packed food boxes for those in need in our area. Thank you for this picture that brings many warm memories of Glenn to our hearts.
