Gilda Oglesby Obituary

Mrs. Gilda Joanne Oglesby, 93, of Aiken, SC, entered into rest on Monday, March 16, 2026.

Born in Kansas City, MO, she is the daughter of the late Harry Hartman Headrick, and Gilda Florence Clardy Headrick. Joanne relocated to Aiken, SC, in 2000. She previously lived in Corona, CA, where she was an accountant.

Upon relocating to Aiken, she joined the Aiken Christian Church. Joanne enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, reading, and coloring. More than anything, however, she enjoyed spending time with her family on lunch dates, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joanne was predeceased by her oldest son Robert "Bob" Logan Oglesby of Lake Havasu, AZ in 2020. Joanne is loved and will be missed by her children, James "Jim" Mace Oglesby, of Puyallup, WA; Penelope "Penny" Pinney, Aiken, SC; Timothy "Tim" Allen (Paula) Oglesby, Ontario, CA, and Charles Eugene "Gene" Oglesby, of Williston, SC; grandchildren, Christy, Aaron, Carie, Nancy, Paula, Lisa, Mike and Kimberly, and great-grandchildren, Ana, Natalie, Kylie, Cody, Michael, Haylie, Kaleb, Christopher, Elizabeth, Penelope, Heidi, Lily, John Luke, and Sam; great-great grandchildren Emilie, Logan, Vivian, and Daniel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 3 o'clock at First Christian Church, 900 Kerr Dr., SW, Aiken, SC. Pastor Keith Ussery will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

Considering her love of reading, memorials in Joanne's memory may be made to the Aiken County Public Library, Chesterfield St., S., Aiken, SC 29801.
