Met George Ed in `87 on my first day at SRS. We´ve been friends ever since and stayed in contact after MK transferred me out in `90. As fellow Texans, we enjoyed swapping tall tales and reminiscing about past escapades and adventures. He could light up a room with his warm personality and that infectious laugh. I´m sure gonna miss him.
Sincere condolences to Amy and Lucy and that little granddaughter and to all those who knew him. He was one swell guy; a tall tree has fallen.
Peace be with you,
Mark Warner

I first met George while working at DWPF (Defense Waste Processing Facility) during the 1990s at Savannah River Site. We quickly became friends and spent many golf outings together. We took golf trips to Myrtle Beach and Santee and played around the Augusta area. I´ve got many great memories of George both at work and that play. He was a great personality with a kind heart and infectious laugh and just a joy to be around. You will be missed George Hill. I feel confident you are having a blast in heaven with Gloria and your brother and plenty of friends. Tell McCorkle I said hello. I´m sorry I will not be able to come to the visitation since I´ll be out of town on a golf trip to Myrtle Beach. We will certainly have a toast to you, George.
Your friend, Mike Anderson

I first met George around 1988. He took me under his wing in quality control at SRS. Thru the years we have had some good times both at work and on golfing trips. In all the years I known him he never changed.... Just George. He will be missed.

George Ed was truly one of a kind! I am forever grateful to him for moving the family to Aiken and giving me a lifelong best friend. Mr. Hill always laughed at our jokes and shook his head when we would run through the house hollering. His laugh was infectious and he had the most genuine smile! I will forever see him riding in that red truck with a grin. I know he will be very missed because he was very loved.

My first memory of George Hill was 30 years ago when I walked into my office trailer at DWPF. I heard that infectious laugh! He was sitting in my chair telling stories about rattle snake wrangling and other jobs he´d had. Little did I know what a good friend and coworker he would become to me. 30 years later we still talked in the phone once or twice a month. Sometimes more. John and I would put him on speaker and he´d have us laughing about even the worst things that had happened to him or us. He was so smart, devoted, and had such a positive attitude. That lanky, tall Texan referred to me as "little buddy" at work and my success depended on him often. We were so blessed that he let us get to know his girls and his precious Emily. He was bigger than life, but so down to earth. We miss you, George. He loved the outdoors, and his greatest treasure is in this photo in the tree.

I met George when I was 12. He was chilling in the yard, hand-watering patches of grass and talking to mean old Cody Bill!!! . George watched a whole assortment of us grow up with Amy and Lucy never laughed at us, he laughed with us.
We did some ridiculous things and he always laughed, then got us out of whatever jam we were in, then laughed some more.
