George Higingbottom Obituary
BATESBURG, SC - Services for George Kelder Higingbottom, 67, will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel with the Rev. Alvin Jackson officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
Mr. Higingbottom passed away Monday, July 13, 2015. Born in Lexington County, he was the son of the late Wyman Kelder and Harriet Burgess Higingbottom. He was a member of St. Paul's Church and had retired from MCEC. George loved people and never met a stranger.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Smith Higingbottom, sons, Jason (Stephanie) and Travis (Rebekah) Higingbottom, sister, Geneva H. Watts, and 6 grandchildren.

Sandra and family, it is so sad to learn of George's passing. We have such fond memories of living nearby your family when residing in Batesburg-Leesville. Our deepest sympathy and prayers are being conveyed to you and the family through this guest book. May you feel and know that God is carrying you and He will give you peace. I know George will be playing Santa for all the precious children in heaven this year and hopefully, this will bring a smile to you. I have many great memories of George from days gone by. I remember seeing him wring the nut off the ball on hitch when I worked at Boatwright Motors many years ago. (Not an easy thing to do!) I have seen him several times over the years at the annual MCEC meetings. George was always the same where ever you saw him. I appreciated that. Sandra and family, just know you all are in my thoughts and prayers.
