George Hardy Obituary
WAGENER - Mr. George Richard Hardy, 74, entered into rest Tuesday, December 25th, 2018.
Richard is the husband of Shirley Widener Hardy who have been married for 55 years. He is the father of Cynthia Hardy and Cheryl Hardy Poole. He is grandfather of Hank Richard William Poole and Emma Jean Marie Poole. Richard is the brother of Tom (Barbara) Hardy of Arkansas and Eugene Hardy of Colorado. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Richard was born in Good Hope, Mississippi to the late C. L. Hardy and Tommie Mills Hardy. He is also preceded in death by sister Marie Stewart, and brothers Lewis Hardy, John Earl Hardy, Fred Hardy, and James Hardy.
Richard began working for Irby Construction at the age of 16 and retired after 54 years of service.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday in the chapel of Blizzard Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A Service Celebrating Richard's life will follow also in the chapel at 2:30 pm with burial in Wagener Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Wagener Museum at P. O. Box 1004, Wagener, SC 29164 or the charity of your choice.

Shirley, Cynthia and Cheryl,
Stephanie told me she found out about Richard's death at church this morning. I know he fought a long hard battle and each of you were there every step of the way. When you have a chronic illness, it is a blessing when the Lord calls your loved one home. The next time I'm down to see the kids, I will drop by to say hello. Shirley it is now time for you to rest and take care of your health.
