George Fowler Obituary
Warrenville - Memorial Services for George W. Fowler, Jr., 73, who entered into rest December 10, 2018, will be conducted on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Posey Funeral Home Chapel, North Augusta, SC. Dr. Rodney K. Powell will officiate. Interment will be held at 1:00 PM in Butler United Methodist Church Cemetery, Saluda, SC.
Mr. Fowler, who was born in St. Louis, Missouri, was a resident of Saluda, SC and Aiken, SC, and then resided in Warrenville, SC for the past 5 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Aiken and was a former member of Butler United Methodist Church in Saluda. Mr. Fowler received his Masters of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina Aiken. He was the co-owner of Butler Hill Guernsey Farm in Saluda until 1990 and later worked and retired as a Financial Analyst for Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site. He was a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Farm Bureau, and member of the American Guernsey Association. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and reading. He was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Brenda Langford Fowler, his parents, George W. Fowler, Sr. and Ethel Leverich Fowler, and two sisters, Alicia and Anita.
Survivors include two daughters, Kaye Fowler Piscitelli (Gene), Raleigh, NC and Meredith Fowler Burnett (Brian), North Augusta, SC; one sister, Linda Fowler Smith (Tom), North Augusta, SC; close friend and caregiver, Joyce Hettich, Warrenville, SC, and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends at Posey Funeral Directors in North Augusta, SC one hour prior to the chapel service and immediately following the graveside service in the Butler UMC fellowship hall.
Memorials may be made to Butler United Methodist Church and mailed to Karen Ringer, Church Treasurer, 178 Andrew Coleman Road, Saluda, SC 29138.
