NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Memorial Services for Mrs. Gail W. Houghtaling, 78, who entered into rest October 17, 2014, will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. James D. Dennis, Jr., officiating. Interment in Cunningham United Methodist Church Cemetery, Palmyra, VA at a later date.
Mrs. Houghtaling was a native of Rome, New York, a former resident of Walton, New York, having made North Augusta her home for the past 6 years. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Houghtaling retired as a Registered Nurse with the State of New York with 24 years of service. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed knitting and crafts. She was preceded in death by her brother, Vern Coulter.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Vard L. Houghtaling; a son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Pam Houghtaling, Rome, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and David Wolfe, Martinez, GA; five grandchildren, Brett Ruhm, Bayleigh Ruhm, Candyce Curran, Cory Wolfe and Lillian Wolfe.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
