LEESVILLE, SC - Memorial services for Freddie E. Evans of Leesville, SC will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Brightharp Funeral Home in Aiken, SC., with the Reverend Stacie Evans officiating.
He was born on July 22, 1946 to the late Bossie and Susie Mae Eubanks-Evans in Aiken County, South Carolina. He departed this life on Sunday, August 29, 2016 at his home in Leesville, SC.
He joined Fairfield Baptist Church in New Ellenton, SC as a young boy, where his father Bossie Evans served on the deacon board.
He attended A.L. Corbett High School in Wagener, SC and graduated in 1965. He attended South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 1974.
He was employed at Kimberly Clarke Corporation in Beech Island, SC and Owens Corning Fiberglas in Aiken, SC.
He also served his country for four years in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
He was united in marriage to Deloris Riley in 1972.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three brothers, Edgar R. Evans (Carlena), Martinez, GA; Gary W. Evans, Aiken, SC; Paul E. Evans (Katie), Salley, SC; three sisters, Carol D. Kitchings, Jackson, SC; Rosalee Evans, Albany, NY; Cedar L. Lawrence (Dr. Rodell), St. Helena Island, SC; five aunts, Janie Eubanks, New Ellenton, SC; Louise Williams, Columbia, SC; Marie E. Stevens, Freeport, NY; Reverend Ruth E. Mayo, San Bernardino, California; one uncle, Franklin T. Eubanks, Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
