Fred Stallings Obituary
Augusta, GA - After a brief illness, Fred Stallings, Jr., died in University Hospital. Fred Stallings, Jr., was born in Augusta, Georgia, on December 20, 1936, to the parents of Fred Stallings, Sr., and Eva Ida Banks, during an era of southern segregation. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. God graciously called him home on Saturday, January 30, 2021. He was an active member of Moses Baptist Church and served in various leadership positions throughout his spiritual life.
Fred Stallings, Jr., of Augusta, Georgia married Lucy Johnson (deceased). The marriage produced three children, Antonio "Tim" Stallings, Sonya Stallings, and Valerie Stallings. Later in life, Fred married Frederick Ann DeWalt and their marriage produced one child, Dorinda Stallings. Fred and Frederick Ann Stallings remained married for forty-eight years, until his earthly transition to paradise.
Family and friends may visit W. H. May's Mortuary, 1221 James Brown Blvd., Augusta, Georgia for viewing. The viewing is scheduled for February 7, 2021 from 12-2p.m. Funeral Services will be held 1 pm graveside Monday, February 8th at Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens Cemetery, US Highway 1 Augusta, GA 30901. Other survivors include: The Stallings Family, The Love-Smith Family, The Tubman Family and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

So very sorry to hear of Mr. Stallings passing. A great educator, disciplanarian, man of God and friend. He taught me and my sisters in the 1960's at Griggs. Always being himself and if you even thought about acting out, all he had to do was give you that "Fred" look and you knew to get your act together while reminding you that he had taught your siblings. We crossed paths again while he was assistant principal at Josey years back and more recently would run into him while shopping at Fred's in South Augusta. Family, take pride and honor that he was among you and left an unforgettable legacy to you and the many many students he had the opportunity to educate.

Mr. Stallings was a dedicated Deacon of our church . Never waivered in his duties as a productive and active member of the church and servant of God . We will truly miss his outstanding contribution to our church family and the community he served.. and on behalf of the Harvey family we ask God to receive him and welcome him home , his journey was long and one filled with the love and Faith that he graced on his Moses church family...
