AIKEN - Mrs. Frances Carolyn Lyons Vaughn, 88, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023 at home with her family by her side.
Mrs. Vaughn was born in Simpsonville, SC, daughter of the late Russell and Cora Lee Riddle Lyons. She was involved in United Methodist Women and the choir for many years while attending Trinity United Methodist Church in Aiken. She later attended Whole Life Ministries in Augusta, GA. She was a homemaker where she devoted her life to Jesus and her family.
She is survived by her loving Husband of 64 years, James Howard Vaughn; son, Larry (Gail) Vaughn of Aiken; and daughter Lori (Ray) Fischer of Mount Pleasant. Grandchildren include Brittany Fischer, Kayla (Chad) Vaughn and Kirk (Mandy) Sheppard. Great grandchildren include Pressley and Porter Rhodes; Beckham, Addy and Emmie Sheppard; and Matthew Butler. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret (Otis - deceased) Babb, of Laurens.
Her loving caregivers also played a big role in her life, as they were her extended family that she deeply loved. Their services were very much appreciated by the immediate family and have been a blessing from our Heavenly Father.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Hodges, SC, with the Reverend Stephen Phillips officiating.
