Fran Vandenberg Obituary

Mrs. Fran Holwerda Vandenberg
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Funeral Services for Mrs. Fran Holwerda Vandenberg, 93, of North Augusta, SC, who entered into rest March 13, 2014, will be conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock from Posey Funeral Chapel. Pastor Brent Garrard officiating. Interment will be Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in Restlawn Memorial Park, Grand Rapids, Michigan under the direction of Zaagman Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Vandenberg was a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan having made North Augusta her home for the past five years. She loved her Church, Grand Rapids First Assembly and freely volunteered her time in many areas of the Church Ministry. Her love for the Lord was known by everyone. She lived out her faith in word and action. Mrs. Vandenberg loved scrapbooking, golf, tennis and travel during her lifetime. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Jennie Wyngarden Holwerda and sister of the late Edward Holwerda. Mrs. Vandenberg will be especially missed by her family but they rejoice that they will see her again.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary (Keith) Blevins, and Sandy Strickfaden, all of North Augusta; a brother, Frank Holwerda, Clarksville, Michigan; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6.
Memorials may be made to Focus Church Women's Ministry, 562 Old Evans Road, Evans, Georgia 30809 or to Grand Rapids First Assembly, 2100-44th Street, Grand Rapids, Michigan 39519.
The family would like to express appreciation to all the staff at the Sterling House for their love and care over the past two years.

Dear friend Fran will be missed by many people she has always loved. We know she is not alone, she is with her dear husband and her mother and dad. I am so happy she had these few months here in South Carolina with her family. I have missed her so and have never stopped loving her.
