North Augusta, SC..Mrs. Faye Murphy Haislip, 87, wife of 64 years to Bill Haislip, entered into rest on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at her residence.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 2, 2025 in the J.M. Ford Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charlie Crews officiating. Interment will follow in the Gibson Community Church Cemetery, Gibson, GA, with Rev. Ed Chance officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Born in DeBruce, Richmond County, GA she made Richmond, Glascock, McCormick and Aiken Counties her home over her lifetime. She attended Andrew College and then Georgia Teachers College, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Afterwards, she taught at SD Copeland, Meadowbrook where she retired after 30 years of teaching. Then she re-entered the classroom at Hillcrest Baptist School for an additional 12 years before finally retiring again.
She was a faithful member of Clearwater Baptist where she volunteered at VBS and Awana. One of her main passions was coaching basketball and softball where she made a positive impact on many young lives. In her spare time, she also loved to garden, practice photography and travel to several destinations with her husband. One of her many accomplishments was being chosen as Teacher of the Year in 1997. Overall, she was a very devoted and happy wife to Bill Haislip for 64 years, a loving mother to Bruce and Robin, as well as an adoring grandmother to her several grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Bruce (Brenda) Haislip, Robin (Stacy) Farmer; her grandchildren Andrew (Kala), Aaron (Susan), Leah ( Austin) Fornander, Kristi (Bryan) Carter, Matthew Starbuck, Travis (Candy) Starbuck, Megan (Tyler) Harman, Kevin Starbuck, Trey Shultzaberger, Sarah Farmer, Chayze Farmer, Lee Farmer, Kristen (Jody) Still, Kameron Farmer, Korey (Megan) Farmer, Sommer (Gerard Rowe), Aarial (Logan) Murray; 22 great grandchildren; her sister Betty Harrell; several nieces and nephews. Those who preceded her in death, her father, Cleon Murphy; her mother, Norene Murphy Milburn (Mother); her step-father, George Milburn; her sisters, Billie Burch (Sister) and Joann Chalker; her nephew, Bo Chalker; and three step-siblings.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Haislip, Aaron Haislip, Trey Shultzaberger, Chayze Farmer, and Lee Farmer.
