Mrs. Fannie Lee Francis Morey
TRENTON - Mrs. Fannie Lee Francis Morey, 88, of Trenton, SC, entered into rest on Friday, September 8th, 2017, in the comfort of her home.
Born in Porterdale, GA, a daughter of the late Frederick Eugene "Gene" and Mary Ann McCardel Newby, she had been a resident of Macon, GA, until making the CSRA her home in March of 1977. She retired from the Kmart Corporation. Miss Fannie Lee obtained her BA in Art from Augusta College at the age of 77and was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC. She enjoyed painting but more than anything, she enjoyed reading her Bible.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include a son and his wife, Danny and Gail Francis, Trenton, SC; a daughter and her husband, Jacki and Ken Marquardt, Canton, GA; siblings, Wendel Newby, San Jose, CA, Willie Newby, Sparta, TN, George Newby, Dewey Rose, GA, Mary Harrell, Bradenton, FL, Lois Newby, Ocala, FL and the late Jeff Newby, as well as several grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on (this evening) Wednesday, September 13th, 2017, from 6 until 8 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, September 14th, 2017, at 10 o'clock at St. John's United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Nancy Creswell Reed officiating. Interment will follow at 3 o'clock in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Macon, GA.
To show appreciation for the care provided to Miss Fannie Lee, if so desired, memorials may be made to Regency Hospice.
