Aiken - Mrs. Evelyn Zavala Perre, 95, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021.
Mrs. Perre was born July 1, 1925, in Dallas, TX, a daughter of the late Pedro C. Zavala and Mary Cardenas Zavala Ramos. A former teacher, she had been a resident of Aiken since 1992. She was a member of Wild Outrageous Women, the Aiken Hospital Auxiliary, and the Ladies Auxiliary of Fleet Reserve Association. She also attended St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Mrs. Perre is survived by her daughters, Louise Fox, Orange Co., CA, Alida Line, Oakland, CA, Suzette Slaughter, Aiken, Rebecca Martin, Reno, NV; sons, Charles Richard Perre, LaVerne, CA, Leon Louis Perre, Jr., Portland, OR, Jon Perre, Aiken; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Isabel Sperlazza, Long Island, NY; brothers, Raul Ramos, Los Angeles, CA, Carlos Ramos, Los Angeles, CA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Louis Perre, Sr; a daughter, Anna Perre; a sister, Rose Blake.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wild Outrageous Women, or the Aiken Hospital Auxiliary, 302 University Hospital, Aiken, SC 29801.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 6-8 PM at SHELLHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 924 HAYNE AVE., AIKEN, SC.
