Reverend Ernest Webb
AIKEN - Reverend Ernest Webb, 85, of Aiken, SC, husband of the late Shelby Widener Webb, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sunday, December 3, 2017.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Johnny and Cornelia Tyre Webb. He retired from Bi-Lo after thirty-four years of service, where he was a Produce Manager. Reverend Webb pastored Spring Branch Baptist Church in Windsor, SC, for nearly twenty-one years. He enjoyed fishing and visiting his family and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children and their spouses, Debra and Mike Lowe, Jerry and Wanda Webb, Charlene and Jason Blackmon, Tim Webb and David and Melissa Webb, all of Aiken, SC; siblings, Jeanelle Mitchum, Clearwater, SC, Brenda Stovall, Grovetown, GA and the late Theodore "Ned" Webb, grandchildren and their spouses, Jonathan and Alison Lowe, Christopher and Megan Lowe, Carmen Webb, Jeremy and Lucy Webb, Shelley and William Todd, Brent Blackmon, Sam Blackmon, Matt and Lorraine Webb, Ben Webb and Aaron Webb and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 7, 2017, beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 o'clock in the chapel with his brother in Christ and longtime friend, Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Bath, SC. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
It has been requested by the family, that memorials be made to Spring Branch Baptist Church P.O. Box 209 Windsor, SC 29856.
