Ernest Collins
NORTH AUGUSTA - Mr. Ernest F. Collins died peacefully in his sleep on September 12, 2025. He was predeceased by his mother, Midred, and his son, Christopher.
Ernest was a carpenter by trade, but his proudest achievement was his musical talent. Ernest was a singer and songwriter. He was a master guitarist and also played drums, keyboard, and harmonica. He played at many events in Georgia and South Carolina and especially enjoyed playing in North Carolina. Ernest wrote hundreds of songs, set them to music, and shared them on Facebook.
Ernest enjoyed all holidays, but Christmas was his favorite. His eyes would light up and sparkle as Christmas got nearer.
He loved all animals, especially his faithful dog, Marley. They went everywhere together.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Annie Cook, sister and brother-in-law, Cathy and Craig Bob Underwald, all of Florence, Alabama; his best friend, constant companion, and the person who made him the happiest he had ever been, Mary Ann Harley, of North Augusta, S.C. and his many friends, old and new.
