Emma Boylen Obituary
Emma Mae Turner-Boylen, was born on June 30, 1927 Emma Mae Turner-Boylen, affectionately known to many as "Mu," was born on June 30, 1927, in Barnwell County-formerly known as Old Ellenton, South Carolina-to the late Henry Turner and Martha Turner. Mu was a woman of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and boundless love. She accepted Christ at an early age and lived her life anchored in spiritual conviction and compassion. Her home was a haven for family and friends, and her wisdom and warmth were gifts she shared freely. She was a devoted and lifelong member of Four Mile Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for many years, including as a beloved voice on the Senior Choir. Her praise and worship were expressions of her heart, and her presence in the church was both joyful and steadfast. One of Mu's greatest personal achievements was returning to Aiken High School later in life to earn her high school diploma-a true reflection of her determination, humility, and commitment to lifelong growth. Mu was also an avid walker and could often be found strolling the Aiken Mall or walking around the Dry Branch community. These walks weren't just a routine-they were a reflection of her grace, discipline, and quiet joy in life's simple pleasures. On Monday, August 4, 2025, Mu peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home, having fulfilled her purpose here on Earth with grace and dignity. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Boylen Sr., one son, and two daughters. She leaves to cherish her memory: Carolyn & Ulysses Jones (Atlanta, GA), Delores & Vernon Garel (Atlanta, GA), Lucille & Parker Burris (Columbia, SC), Margaret & Calvin Young Sr. (Columbia, SC), and Diane Walker (Baltimore, MD); ten grandchildren, including Dr. Marchelle Paige and Derrick, who remained by her side with deep love and unwavering dedication; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Gussie Walker ( New Ellenton, SC); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her beloved church family Those who knew Mu will remember her for her strength, her selfless heart, and her deep love for God and family. Her legacy will live on through every life she touched
