Ellen Stone Ivey
AIKEN, SC - Ellen Vera Stone Ivey passed away peacefully, March 28 2017 surrounded by family at her home. She was 87 years old.
Born in Batesburg, SC, Sept 10, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Ever Lou Cockrell Stone. She was the wife of the late Loren Abbott Ivey, Jr.
A member of Millbrook Baptist Church for 48 years and a member of the original Jim Rivers Chapel class. She was a volunteer choir mother for children choirs and assistant cheerleader coach.
She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Stone Jr. Survivors include two sons, Leffie A. (Tony) Craps, Loren Frank Ivey (Paula Wicker), and a daughter Donna Ivey Johnson (Kevin). Four grandchildren, Emalie J. Howle (Adam) of Aiken, Cullen Johnson, Austin Ivey, Alex Ivey.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be Thursday afternoon, March 30th at 3 o'clock at Millbrook Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Chris Masters and Rev. Richard Nevard (Pruitt Health Hospice) officiating. Interment following in Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers: Adam Howle, Cullen Johnson, Austin Ivey, Eric Thompson, John Stone, Bob Buckley. Honorary Pall Bearers: Millbrook Chapel Class and Sunshine Ladies.
