Elizabeth Majors Obituary

Elizabeth Anderson "Betty" Majors
AIKEN, SC - Elizabeth Anderson "Betty" Majors, 86, of Aiken, died peacefully at her home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 18, 2015 at 4:00p.m. at First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Brian Coulter officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mrs. Majors was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia to the late Lewis Thurston and Clyde Faglier Anderson. She graduated from the University of Georgia in 1950 where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Mrs. Majors taught school in Augusta before moving to Aiken in 1951 with her husband, Dr. A. P. Majors. She taught school in Aiken County until beginning her family in 1953. Mrs. Majors was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aiken, and in 1999 was awarded the Honorary Life Member of Presbyterian Women. Mrs. Majors was also in the Pine Needles Garden Club and the Aiken Junior Student Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Majors Waters, Charleston; two sons, Bradford Pinckney Majors (Josselyn), Greenville and David Anderson Majors, Aiken; and five grandchildren, Mary Pinckney Pratt, David Barrett Waters, Callum Elias Gill, Dominic Austin Gill, and Troy Anderson Majors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. A.P.
Majors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Ave., Aiken, SC 29801, or a favorite charity.
