Born October 31, l923, she was the daughter of Jason V. and Pearl Rickenbaker George.
Eleanor graduated from Aiken High School and a business college in Augusta before working at Riverside Mills. She later began a long career in the Maintenance Department of Graniteville Company, where she worked until she retired. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and kind-hearted neighbor and friend, Eleanor was a faithful member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville. There she served on numerous committees and was involved in various activities and sang in the choir for fifty years.
She was an avid gardener and her house was surrounded by a colorful selection of her favorite flowers, some of which bloomed every season and were displayed in church.
Eleanor was of a true southern lady and will be sorely missed by the many lives that she touched in her family and her community.

Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Kenney, her granddaughter, Lauren Kenney Eidson (Jason), her great-grandson, Charles Kirby, and cousin, Emogene Dufford, who was raised like a sister.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, August 28th at 11:00 am at St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am until the time of the service in the church. Officiating the service will be pastors: Kendell Healy, Alan Quarles, and Rod Elliott. The interment will immediately follow the service at the historic Graniteville Cemetery.
