AIKEN, SC - Effie Mae Taylor Baughman, age 78, of Aiken, S.C., wife of the late Nelson Baughman and daughter of the late Leonard Hugh Taylor and the late Grace Adams Taylor, entered into eternal rest at her residence on Sunday, September 20, 2015.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Bobby) Grover and Judy Rains;
seven grandchildren: Ricky Baughman, Jr., Jason Grover, Brian Grover, Candace Baughman, Robert Baughman, Christopher Rains and Nelson Rains and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sons, Ricky Baughman, Sr. and Allen Baughman and a sister, Dorothy Jean Boatright. She also had two faithful and loving pet companions, her dogs, Belle and Rebel.
She was saved in 1972 and ever since that time, she has been a faithful and dedicated member of Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. She really loved her Faith Sunday School Class, her Pastor and friends there. She was an energetic woman that others enjoyed being around. She shall be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She has finished life's journey and is now at home with her Maker, the Lord Jesus Christ. Earth's loss is truly Heaven's gain.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening, September 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life and homegoing, will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Brancie Stephens and Rev. Bobby Grover officiating. The interment will follow at the Historic Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Ricky Baughman, Jr., Jason Grover, Brian Grover, Robert Baughman, Christopher Rains and Nelson Rains.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home through Bethel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 2168, Aiken, S.C. 29802. Napier Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main St., Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
