Edward Dickens ""Ed" "
GRANITEVILLE - Edward "Ed" W. Dickens went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 26, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Jean Dickens, of 25 years. He leaves his brothers, Douglas M. Dickens and Christopher K. Dickens. He will be missed by his daughters Dawn Caloca-Johnson and Christina Westmooreland. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward Perkins and Marie Dickens. Ed's legacy will continue with his six grandchildren. The nation is grateful for Ed's 23 years of service in the Navy and for his duties during the Vietnam War where he earned the Purple Heart. Heidi, his beloved dog will miss Ed's companionship. Ed enjoyed riding his motorcycle and target shooting. Ed attended Lakeside Baptist Church and was a member of the Joy Sunday school class. Jean Dickens will be eternally grateful for the love and support her church family has shown during Ed's sickness and death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, beginning at 9 o'clock at Lakeside Baptist Church, Clearwater, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10 o'clock. Pastor Tad Marshall will officiate. Interment with full military honors accorded by a United States Navy Honor Guard will follow at 2 o'clock in the Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
