Edward Bryant Obituary

Mr. Edward Oliver "Ed" Bryant, Sr., 81, of North Augusta, SC, beloved husband of sixty-two years to Clara Hill Bryant, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. A lifelong area resident, he was the son of the late Jasper Marvin and Helen Havird Bryant. He graduated from Richmond Academy and furthered his education by attending Augusta College, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business. Ed formerly owned and operated Bryant's Valley Food and Bryant's Food and Fuel Stores. Known for his strong work ethic, Ed believed in working for what he had and did not expect anything from anyone. He was a great provider for his family and always made sure they had what they needed. Family meant everything to Ed. As his children grew up, they were active in various activities. He rarely missed an activity that his children were involved with. This also continued with his grandchildren, until his health no longer permitted it. Ed was involved in his community in several different ways. He was formerly active in the North Augusta Sertoma Club, the Belvedere Jaycees and let us not forget Dixie Youth Baseball. An avid DAWG fan, he enjoyed trips between the hedges to watch them DAWGS "hunker down". Go, you silver britches! Along with his bride, Ed is loved, already missed, and will always have a special place in the hearts of his children, Edward Oliver (Lisa) Bryant, Jr., Joel (Lisa) Bryant, John (Stephanie) Bryant, Ola (Tony) Martin, and Debbie (Lee) Rothwell, sixteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. Also preceding Ed in death were siblings, Jasper Marvin "Trey" Bryant, III, and Susan Bryant Cooper. Friends will be greeted by the family on Sunday, September 14, 2025, beginning at 2 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Ed's son, Edward Oliver "Ed" Bryant, Jr., will officiate. Please honor Ed and his love for the DAWGS by wearing RED and BLACK to the Celebration of Life Service. Memorials in memory of Ed may be given to The Parkinson's Foundation (www.Parkinson.org) or the Alzheimer's Association.
