Edna Pontoon Obituary
SPRINGFIELD, SC - Visitation for Mrs. Edna Pontoon will be held Friday, April 10, 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fulmer's Funeral Home, Springfield, SC. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, 1:00 pm at The Church of Deliverance, Springfield, SC, Pastor Willie Tyler III. Officiating.
Mrs. Pontoon, 84, was born in Allendale County, February 16, 1931 to the late David and Julia Hicks Doe. She died Monday, April 6. She was a member of The Church of Deliverance where she was a dedicated Usher.
Survivors are her husband, Lawson Pontoon of the home, four sons, Norris Pontoon Jr. and Ronnie Pontoon both of Walterboro, SC, Robert Pontoon and Willie James Pontoon both of Springfield, SC; three daughters, Gladys Hicks, Martha Ann Casteal and Deanna Pontoon all of Springfield/Salley, SC; two brothers, Conway Doe, Allendale, SC and Hezekiah Doe, Philadelphia, PA.
Friends may call at the residence and Fulmer's Funeral Home of Springfield.

I worked with Dee a long time ago. She turned out to be my best friend. Her mom, Ms. Pontoon was a great lady. She talked with me about some sad times of my own. She always knew what to say. I remember she sent us Thanksgiving dinner to work one year. I remember her good "pies" and how proud she was of her grandson Brandon. I know she has her wings in heaven. You ask how I know this? Simple, because she was an angel already here on earth. My prayers are with her family and my best friend Dee Pontoon. Rest in Peace Ms. Pontoon. Love you and you will be missed.
