Edith Rogers Obituary

Mrs. Edith Hatchell Rogers
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Mrs. Edith Hatchell Rogers, 84, of Campbellton Drive, wife of 63 years to Robert D. Rogers, Sr., entered into rest on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at University Hospital.
Her funeral service was held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in the Chapel of Rowland Funeral Home with Dr. Gary C. Redding officiating. Interment followed in Pineview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Orangeburg, SC to Richard Furman and Lucia Mae Gue Hatchell. She graduated from Furman University in June of 1951 in Elementary Education. She was a member of First Baptist Church of North Augusta.
Additional survivors include two sons, Robert D. Rogers, Jr. of Lexington, SC, and Thomas Lee Rogers and his wife Tracey of Evans, GA; and 6 grandchildren, Cole Rogers, Davis Rogers, Robert D. Rogers, III, Jimmy Jennings Rogers, Susanne Rogers, and Rhett Rogers. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha Elizabeth Rogers.
Pallbearers were Michael DeLaney, Robert D. Rogers, III, Cole Rogers,
Floyd Powell, Glenn Patrick, and Nick Simon.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 2PM until service time.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her loving niece, Mrs. Gail Delaney.
Memorials may be made to Children's Building Fund at First Baptist Church of North Augusta, 625 Georgia Avenue, North Augusta, SC 29841; or to the charity of one's choice.
