AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Eddie Mae Woods-Jenkins, age 74, of 319 Grandiflora Circle, wife of Joseph Jenkins, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at Aiken Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11am Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Welcome Traveler Missionary Baptist Church (Viewing 10-11am) with Rev. James Adams, Eulogist and Rev Willie Blocker, Presiding. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Eddie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Lee and Georgia Mae Lowery Woods, while leaving to cherish her memory: a daughter, Yvette (Frank) Taylor - Saint Albans, NY; two sons, Todd (Anita) Jenkins - Locust Grove, Ga, Joseph (Wanda) Jenkins - Roosevelt, NY; five sisters, Louise Young - Tucson, AZ, Loretta (Michael) Carter, Betty Belle, Phyllis Woods - all of Fairfield, AL, Arlene (Lavell) Rutledge - Hueytown, AL; four brothers, James (Lois) Woods - Hueytown, AL, Ronnie Woods - Pleasant Grove, Alfred
(Angela) Woods - Mcalla AL, John Woods - Cleveland, OH; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Jefferson County AL and educated in Public Schools. At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ and joined Bethlehem Baptist Church. Eddie Mae lived in Jamaica, NY for 60 years and retired from Jamaica Nursing Home. After retirement, she relocated to Aiken, SC and faithfully attended the Welcome Travelers Missionary Baptist Church. After a short illness, she went home to be with the Lord.

My reflection of Eddie Mae is how she gave example in quietly championing the resistance to
gossiping. You are surely missed for your beauty in that!
