Earl T. Carlisle
WAGENER. SC - Earl T. Carlisle, 77, of Wagener, SC, and formerly of Cayce, SC completed his journey to the Lord on January 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. The service will be officiated by Chaplain John Lopez.
Earl was born in Laurinburg, NC on September 29, 1939. He was a dedicated husband and father who enjoyed his morning coffee, as well as spending time at Neeses Flea Market with his friend, Melvin. Earl served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960 and spent part of his service aboard the USS Midway CVA41. He retired from the SC Department of Mental Health in 1993.
He was the son of the late Edison Carlisle and Martha Sanders Carlisle and was preceded in death by his siblings, Verlean Green of Irmo, SC and Wayne Carlisle of Columbia, SC. Earl is survived by his wife, Katherine Hazewinkel Carlisle of Wagener, SC; his daughter, Tammy Carlisle Grubbs (Charlie) of Lexington SC; his son, Murray Haynes Carlisle (Molly) of Portland OR; his grandchildren, Kaytie & Calev Grubbs, Nora Carlisle and step-sister, Pauletta Walton.
The family would like to extend thanks to Jennifer King for his loving nursing care while in hospice.
