Dorothy Strickland Obituary

Dorothy Strickland
JACKSON - Mrs. Dorothy Smith Strickland, age 86, entered into rest on Thursday, October 5, 2023. She was born in Greer, SC, and grew up in Columbia, SC. She spent her final years in rural Aiken County enjoying what she described as the "beauty and wonder of God's creation."
She was predeceased by her beloved son Frank Strickland, Jr.; her parents, Mr. Harley E. Smith and Mrs. Mary J. Smith; along with her sisters Virginia Marshall, Marjorie Shelley, and Ruth Clark. She is survived by her son, Tony (Tanya) Strickland, Beech Island/Jackson, SC; grandson, Clinton Strickland, Columbia, SC; as well as her stray cats, dogs, birds, and other "critters" that she fretted over and faithfully fed every day regardless of weather.
At her request, no service will be held. Mrs. Strickland asks that memorials be made to Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS), PO Box 2207 Aiken, SC 29802.
