Dorothy Guerra Obituary

North Augusta, SC – Funeral Services for Dorothy Jean Cherry Guerra, 86, who entered into rest October 3, 2025, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel, Pastor Jerry Byrd officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 until 7. Mrs. Guerra was born November 26, 1938, in Aiken County, SC to the late Dewey and Florie Cherry. She was a devoted Christian and member of Riverfront Church. Mrs. Guerra worked as a model and as a result began a 40-year career as a beautician and instructor of cosmetology. She also enjoyed watching Gunsmoke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Belinda Mafnas; sons, Robert Wall and Johnnie Wall; granddaughter, Gina; sister, Lois Smith. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Jose Guerra; daughters, Jacqueline Love and Kristie Jeanne Arnold (Joseph); sons, Dewey Wall (Jenny) and Preston Ray Tyree II; stepdaughters, Patricia Brown and Barbara Freeeman; grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Abby, Samantha, James, Jessica, Candace, Matthew, Crystal, Champagne, Curtis, Melissa, Joshua and Jacob; great-grandson, Jeremiah; sister, Hazel Lilly. Pallbearers will be Brandon Emerson, Robert Key, Joshua Lee Tyree, Jacob Boyd, Mike Hess and Richard Lilly.
