Mrs. Dorothy Jean Carman, age 81, of Hartsville, TN went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2014, at her home after an extended illness.
Preceded in death by: Parents, John Lesley Talley and Mary Ester Goodman Talley; Brother, John William Talley.
Survived by: Husband of 66 years, Mr. Gene Carman-Hartsville, TN; three Sons, Mr. Harold Gene (Debbie) Carman Jr.-Lafayette, TN, Mr. Carroll (Linda) Carman-Hartsville, TN, Mr. Darrell (Ann) Carman-Hartsville, TN; two Daughters, Mrs. Kathy (Lloyd) Andrews-Gallatin, TN, Mrs. Karen (Kenny) Armstrong-Hendersonville, TN; twenty-one Grandchildren, Harold Gene (Rachel) Carman, III, Ray (Katie), Carman, Amanda (Chris) Byrd, Garrett (Juanita) McReynolds, Jim (Rachel) Carman, Julia (Steve) Griffin, Jamie (Marc) Hays, Christy (Chris) Helson, Michael (Jenny) Carman, Matthew (Betsy) Carman, Mark Carman, Chad (Lamanda) Carman, Charity (James) West, Cayla Carman, Carrie (Jordan) Green, Caleb Carman, Candace Carman, Courtney Carman, Rebecca Andrews, Jake (Lindsey) Andrews, and Mickey (Whitney) Armstrong; forty-three Great Grandchildren; many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
MeMa, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, spent her life ministering and caring for others. She was known for her love and compassion as well as her renowned cooking skills. Her legacy of love for Jesus and others will continue. She embodied the Proverbs 31 woman.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Grace Baptist Church conducted by Bro. Harold Carman & Bro. Carroll Carman.
Honorary pallbearers to be: Tom Garrett, Chris Byrd, Steve Griffin, Marc Hays, Chris Helson, James West, Jordan Green and nephews, Robbie Talley, George Talley, Robert Murray, Ken Sweeney, Duane Weed, Mike Morgan and David Moya-Mendez.
Pallbearers to be: grandsons, Jim, Gene, Ray, Michael, Matthew, Mark, Chad and Caleb Carman, Jake Andrews, Mickey Armstrong and Garrett McReynolds.
Interment will be in the Hartsville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 9 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 and 2 to 9 PM Thursday and 10 AM to 1:30 PM Friday at Anthony Funeral Home, Hartsville, TN.
