Dorothy Brasier Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy Marion Brasier, 95, of Aiken, SC, wife of the late John Brasier, entered into rest on Thursday, afternoon, May 22, 2025, while in the comfort of her home. Born in Lowell, MA, she was a daughter of the late Hugo T. Paige and Marion Taylor Paige. Growing up in Lowell, she then moved to New Hampshire. She was a homemaker, a mother of four and ran a small horse farm. Dorothy had fallen in love with horses at a young age and she passed that love along to her children. She also loved to cook and bake from scratch, and loved sharing food with friends. Dorothy loved to live life to the fullest and had a wonderful sense of adventure and she loved to bring others along for the ride! She was a member of the Sports Club Car of America and raced both on the track and in cross-state competitions. She could often be seen as co-pilot in her husband John's Cessna, riding with him on the back of his Harley Davidson, or climbing fences to go for a ride in her friend's helicopter. Over 30 years ago, Dorothy and her husband John moved to Aiken, South Carolina. They rode with Why Worry Hounds, The Mock Hunt and loved riding in The Hoofbeats & Christmas Carols Parade. Dorothy rode her beloved thoroughbred mare Lucy nearly every day into her early 90s. One of her favorite things of all was riding in Hitchcock Woods, especially when the kalmia were blooming. Dorthy is loved, and greatly missed. Her memory will remain eternal in the hearts of her children, James Haithwaite, David (Lisa) Stone and Mark (Kelly Anne) Stone, cousin, June Merrifield, Grandchildren Taylor, Jennifer, Chris, Isaac and Isabella, as well as multiple great grandchildren. She leaves behind many friends who miss her dearly. Along with her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Erica Garasky. Dorothy's family and friends will honor her memory with a private Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date. In honor of her love for riding in The Woods, please consider memorials in memory of Dorothy to the Hitchcock Woods Foundation, P.O.
