AIKEN - Miss Doris Elizabeth Gunter, age 52 of Aiken, S.C., entered into eternal rest at Aiken Regional Medical Center on Monday, October 30, 2017. She is survived by her father, Rev. James N. Gunter, Jr. of Aiken, S.C.; sisters, Debra (Mark) Yon of Graniteville, S.C. and Darlene (Randy) Lindsay of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, J. Russell (Leslie) Gunter of Graniteville, S.C.; a niece, Shelly Yon of Graniteville, S.C.; nephews, Andrew (Lisa) Gunter of Brandon, MS, Zachary (Amanda) Gunter of Graniteville, S.C., and Joshua (Samantha) Yon of Beech Island, S.C. and a great nephew, Judah Gunter of Brandon, MS. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gail Gunter. She was born in and lived most of her life in Aiken County, S.C. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Graniteville, S.C. where she taught a children's Sunday School Class and sang in the Adult Choir. She was a substitute teacher for the Aiken County School District. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. The family wishes to extend a special "Thank You" to the doctors, nurses and staff of Aiken Regional Medical Center for the loving care they gave to Doris. A service, celebrating her life and home going, will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Steve Gillette officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Joshua Yon, Zachary Gunter, Kevin Tietze, Robert Kissiah and Lalo Castro.
