Doris Black Obituary
Langley - Mrs. Doris Padgett Black, age 90, beloved wife of 69 years to Mr. James "Ed" Black, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 22, 2023 at her home in Langley.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her brother, James Padgett; sisters, Annie Laurie Black, Helen Adams; numerous nieces and nephews and a special great niece and nephew, Brittany Yanizeski and Brandon Black. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Irene Toole Padgett; brothers, Ray Padgett, Jr., W. A. Padgett; and sister, Hazel Coon.
Mrs. Black was a member of the Langley Church of God since 1964. She also worked in the Spinning Room at the Seminole Mill in Clearwater, SC for 34 years. She was a loving wife and a faithful Christian who will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
A funeral service honoring her life will be held on Thursday January 26, 2023 at 2pm in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Hardee officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Gerald Tice, Donnie Black, Thad Ashley, Joey Black and George Webb. Napier Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
