Donald Edward Humes
AIKEN - DONALD EDWARD HUMES, 86, beloved husband of Yoon Sook Park, passed away Tuesday evening, September 13, 2022 at his residence.
Born in Lexington, KY, Donald was a son of the late Claude and Myrtle Charles Humes. He grew up in Indianapolis and Terre Haute, IN. He was a Vietnam veteran and retired as Staff Sergeant from the U. S. Army after 23 years of service. After retiring from the Army, Donald ran several small businesses over seas before returning to the States. He lived in Aiken since 1999 and was an active member of North Aiken Church of God. He was a proud patriot.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Yoon Park; three daughters, Carole Morris (Henry), Marie Humes (John Livingston), Rena Humes; a son, Donald Humes, Jr.; four grandsons, Jeff Osbon (Brandy), Donald Humes III, John Galloway, Henry Martin; three granddaughters, Jennifer Brown (Gabriel), Krystina Ellie Martin, Chelsea Humes; six great-grandchildren, Rebecca Dunbar, Christian Walston, Luke and Paisley Brown, Grayson and Connor Baldwin; a sister, Phyllis Plake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Aaron Galloway and a brother, Charles Claude Humes.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, September 16th from 6 until 8 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Saturday morning September 17th at 11 o'clock at North Aiken Church of God with Pastor John Harbin officiating. Entombment will full military honors will follow in the Southlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
