WINAMAC, Ind. - Dolores E. Synak, 97, of Aiken passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 30, 2023. She was born on May 31, 1926 in Chicago to the late Martin and Agnes [Mikoda] Zahorsky. On November 28, 1944, Dolores married Frank C. Synak in El Cerrito, CA and she began her journey as an Army wife.
Dolores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, IN as well as St. Mary Help of Christians Church in Aiken. She was an avid quilter and talented seamstress. Dolores was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was especially fond of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Dolores will be dearly missed by her family who loved her so much. She is survived by her daughters, Charla (John) Ebenroth and Rhana Synak both of Aiken, as well as Franki (George) Chabalewski of Richmond, VA; her nine grandchildren, Eric (Lisa) Ebenroth, Aaron (Connie) Ebenroth, Frank (Lysa) Ebenroth, Joe (Tracey) Ebenroth, John (Michelle) Ebenroth, Jane Ebenroth, Rachel (Fran) Lenahan, Sara (Billy) Crum, and Sam Chabalewski; 18 Great Grandchildren; 8 Great Great Grandchildren; and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by her father, Martin Zahorsky; her mother, Agnes [Mikoda] Vicek; her husband, Frank C. Synak; and three sisters, Dorothy Vanac, Bernice Fisher, and Violet Hoffman.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon EDT Saturday, July 8, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski, IN with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery South in Pulaski, IN.
