Deborah Olney Obituary

Deborah Anne Olney
AIKEN - Deborah Anne Rhea Olney, 74, beloved wife of MAJ George W. Olney, USA Ret., passed away Friday, November 15, 2024 in her home with her loving husband by her side.
A certified steel magnolia, Deborah grew up in Charleston, SC. She was the daughter of the late Stanley E. Rhea and Marguerite Orvin Davis Hager. She adored flowers and gardening and took that passion with her as she and George raised a family across Georgia and South Carolina. In retirement, they found Aiken and made the home they had always dreamed of.
Surviving, in addition to George, her husband of 53 years, are two sons, George W. Olney II of North Augusta, SC, and Lt Col Thomas S. Olney, USAF, of Washington, DC; daughter-in-law, Lt Col Rosemarie M. Wilde, USAF; and two grandchildren, James A. Olney and Lilian Margaret Wilde.
A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon, November 30th at 2 o'clock in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 2648 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Graniteville, SC 29829.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Aiken Senior Life Services, 1310 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
