Slither of Hope
In Loving Memory
of David L. Cummings
Every morning I wake and
I am faced with the fact that
you are gone.
My heart hurts and
the tears fall;
I have to be strong and
stand so tall
forced to look for a
slither of hope.
During family moments,
When all are together,
you're not there.
I think about you -
how I miss you;
All the while, I search for
a slither of hope.
To see baby girl grow up
without you,
She calls out "da-da",
sits and play,
And already wants her way.
Still, I seek a slither of hope.
You always told me:
In God, all things
are possible; and
If I am burden and heavy laden, God will give me rest.
You told me over and over, that
God will never leave me nor forsake me; and
He is my refuge in
times of trouble.
Daily, you remind me to
cast my cares on Him;
For, He cares for me.
And, in this, I have truly found a slither of hope.
