Mr. Danny Lee Lackey
Aiken - Mr. Danny Lee Lackey, 65, of Aiken, SC, entered into rest on Friday, July 15, 2022. He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Lambert (Donald), and his brother, Jeffrey Lackey.
The family will greet friends on Friday, July 22, 2022, beginning at noon at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC 29829 followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 o'clock in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date in Berry Highland South Cemetery, Knoxville, TN.
Left to cherish Danny's memory are his children, Melissa Lackey-Oremus (James), of Aiken, SC, Beverly Gray, of Aiken, SC and Roger Gray II (Maria), of Brentwood, TN; his sisters, Felicia Cotton and Karen Burnell, both of Florida; his step-father, Tito Garcia, of Sandford, Florida, and grandchildren, Brooke Lackey, of Manhattan, NY, Jenna Oremus, and Jacob Oremus, both of Aiken, SC, Coty Caudle (Janie) and Caleb Gray, both of Aiken, SC.
Danny was born in Taylorsville, NC to the late Glen Lee Lackey and Betty Jean Garcia. He was a retired cross-country truck driver with thirty-plus years of service. He was famous for his great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He even kept the nurses and aids at Pepperhill laughing. He was a kind-hearted, loving father. He would give you the shirt off his back. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
