Dana Foster Obituary

Dana Foster
Graniteville - Mrs. Dana J. Foster, 50, widow of Scotty Lynn Foster, of Graniteville, passed away February 16, 2022.
Born July, 15, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois, she was the daughter of John Denton and Reva Carter Denton.
Dana met Scott in Illinois, where they began their family. They lived there until 1999 and moved to Aiken, where she continued her community involvement with teaching and coaching. She later graduated from USCA with her Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught 13 years in the Aiken County School District, which included Midland Valley Prep School, Kennedy Middle School, Town Creek Christian Academy and Byrd Elementary.
Dana was a faithful member of Town Creek Baptist Church, where she was very involved in the Children's Ministry. She loved coaching basketball - Ball was Life! - and was very involved in several community teams, including The Serteen club, and Aiken Warriors Basketball.
Another of her generous outreach offerings was The People to People Program, which took students to overseas adventures. She loved teaching and loved sharing her heart with her students.
Dana will be lovingly remembered by her parents; her children, Shelby Foster, Samantha Foster and Zachary Foster (April); her grandchildren, Aleko Carl and one granddaughter on the way!; her brother, Jeff Denton (Deana), Texas; her brother-in-law, James Foster (Melody); Mother-and father-in-law, James and Doris Foster; and a large extended family of cousins, aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 9AM-11AM at Town Creek Baptist Church, 250 Town Creek Rd, Aiken, SC 29803.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11AM at Town Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Clint Smith officiating.
The family kindly requests that in place of floral arrangements, memorial contributions be made in Dana's memory to The Scott & Dana Foster Basketball Scholarship Fund.
The Historic George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803.649.6234), has charge of arrangements.
