Dana Block Obituary
AIKEN - On Saturday, May 5th, Dana Munro Block, 25, took flight with the butterflies. She battled brain cancer for over six years and had decided to live with quality not quantity this past winter. Dana's short life included establishing a charity (Jump @ Life) to allow other young people the ability to fly (tandem skydive) as she loved to do, singing constantly, and making others feel more comfortable with her situation than she always felt. Dana's legacy continues with her sister (Hannah), mom (Susan Mitchell-Block), Nana (Harriet Boyden), father (Carl), and her loving family. She wanted all to continue her legacy by remembering others before they did themselves. Dana did this by ensuring she could donate herself to science - to give herself for others. Dana lived with her mother and sister in Phoenix, AZ but was an Aiken resident for 5 years and her Nana still
lives there. Under Dana's request, in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Banner Health Foundation - specifically to Banner Hospice to raise funds for more music therapists (Dana loved hers). Per Dana's instructions, there is not a service planned at this time.

Susan and Carl, We remember Dana as such a sweet and quiet child when we cared for her in our home day care. I was deeply shocked and saddened in hearing of her passing. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. May you find the peace and comfort that comes from our Lord and Savior.

What a wonderful person Dana must have been. After reading about her, I feel those who knew her are so very lucky to have experienced her short life with them. I am truly sorry family and friends have to suffer the pain of loss. It's never an easy path. May all who are sad heal soon and always remember her smile.
