Connie Whitmire Obituary
GRANITEVILLE - Mrs. Connie Whitmire, 53, beloved wife and best friend seventeen years to Mr. Ron Whitmire, entered into rest suddenly on Friday, April 21st, 2017.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC and a graduate of Silver Bluff High School, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Wiley McClain and the late Margerite Peeples. She was a member of North Aiken Church of God and retired from Michelin, where she was an Electrician. Connie and Ronnie enjoyed working on and collecting cars, wetting a hook, going to the mountains and riding Harley's.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include a son, Jonathan Steeley, Graniteville, SC; siblings, Martha Davis, Augusta, GA, Tracy McClain and his wife, Miok, Virginia Beach, VA, Jenny Hatley and her husband, Kevin, Graniteville, SC and her twin, Donnie McClain and his wife, Tammy, Dyersburg, TN; grandchildren who were her whole world, Cameron and Codie Steeley, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends on Monday, April 24th, 2017, beginning at 10 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service follow at 12 o'clock in the chapel. In accordance with her wishes, Connie will be cremated following the service.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home. (www.conniemaxwell.com)

My heart is saddened as I came to know you at Connie Maxwell Children's Home. A sister that I will truly miss. Your smile and laughter while playing basketball together and just being friends. Words cannot express how I feel but you have definitely left a lifetime of great memories that I will never forget and I will never forget you. May your light shine in heaven as it did on earth.
