Clifford Ranson Obituary

Aiken, SC – Mr. Clifford Ranson, 84, entered into rest September 9, 2025, at his home. Graveside Services will be conducted Friday morning, September 12th, at 10 o'clock in Bethany Cemetery, with Veteran Honors. The family will receive friends at Posey Funeral Directors, Thursday evening, September 11th, from 6 until 8 o'clock. Clifford was born August 14, 1941, to the late Archie William Ranson and Margaret Warner Ranson. He was a native of Ogden, Utah and a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a young man, Clifford served as a church missionary, proselyting in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission for two years. Clifford was a proud U.S. Army veteran. In 1965, he married his sweetheart, Alice, and together they made their home in Aiken. Clifford worked for the Owens Corning Fiberglass company for 29 years and went on to work for Seer Insurance Inspections for 18 years. He was known to have a servant's heart who was generous with his time. Clifford had a knack for building and was handy with any project he worked on. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by a son, Jason Ranson; his siblings, Ralph Ranson, Jerry Ranson, Midge Lund, Delores Gibson, and his infant brothers Richard and Robert Ranson. Surviving family members include his beloved wife of 60 years, Alice J. Ranson; his children, Jared Ranson, Audrey Waldrop (Mark), Kippen Wilhoit (David), Wendel Ranson (Lauren) and Holley Howell (James); sisters, Bonnie Price, Fern Freeman (Robert), and Helen Wight; fifteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clifford's children and grandchildren. Additional honorary pallbearers will be Tim Brown, Conner Hullinger, Jack Graham, Gerry Thomas, and Dr. Robert E. Bowen. The family would like to express immense gratitude to the friends and family who provided help in the final months of Clifford's illness.
