Charlotte Davis Obituary
AIKEN - Mrs. Charlotte A. Davis, age 71, a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, of 552 Shiloh Heights Rd entered eternal rest Saturday, September 22, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, September 28, 2018 at Friendship Baptist Church (Viewing 10-11 AM) with Rev. T. C. Edwards, officiating. Burial will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, 1523 Edgefield Hwy, Aiken.
The daughter of the late Charlie ""Bubba" Dunbar, Sr. and Irene Turner Dunbar, she was a 1964 graduate of Martha Schofield High School and a former employee of Owens Corning Fiberglas Company. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Stars. Charlotte was best known as the first black cashier at the Piggy Wiggly Grocery Store.
She leaves to cherish many memories: her devoted husband, Vincent W. Davis; daughters, Karen Spencer, Michelle Leaverette, and Vincencia (Rodney) T. Trowell; her son, Gerald Bernard Davis; sisters, Barbara Dunbar, Lillie Patterson, Willie Mae Richardson, and Betty (Raymond) Pontoon; brothers, Charlie Dunbar, Jr., Allen Dunbar, and Albert (Dorsey) Dunbar; grandchildren, Alexis (Chris) Turner, Bryson Leaverette, Thomas Davis, Saroja Trowell, Ryan Leaverette, Taylor Trowell, Brooke Leaverette, and Christian Davis; great grandchildren, Noah Grace Turner; and a host of other relatives and loving friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6-7 PM.
