Charles Woodward Obituary

Mr. Charles Everett Woodward, 72, of Aiken, SC, husband of the late Elizabeth "Beth" Craver Woodward, entered into rest on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Born in Richland County, SC, and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life, he was the son of the late Everett Woodward and the late Anita Miller Brunson. Following his graduation from Aiken High School, he began his career as a Lineman with Pike Electric. Later, he went to work with Santee Cooper, retiring after over twenty-eight years of service. As a Lineman, he worked mainly on high-voltage transmission lines. Known by some as "Charlie" and others as "Woody", he enjoyed hunting, fishing, southern gospel music, and, of course, a good meal. He was a "people person" and never met a stranger. Charles is survived by sons, Chad (Teresa) Woodward and Kevin (Lauren) Woodward, a sister, Jan (Pastor Gareth) Hegler, grandsons, "the Woodward Triplets", Collin, Colby, Carson, and Ryland Woodward. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 5 o'clock at Bethcar Baptist Church, 950 Bethcar Church Rd., Wagener, SC 29164. Memorials in memory of Charles may be given to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
