Charles Hall Obituary

North Augusta, SC……Mr. Charles Wayne "Chuck" Hall, 85, devoted husband of 62 years to Jackie Hall, entered into rest on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Piedmont Augusta. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the J.M. Ford Funeral Chapel with Dr. Paul W. Noe officiating. Interment with Veteran's Honors will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Mr. Hall was born in Bushnell, FL to the late E.T. and Frances Woodard Hall. He made North Augusta his home since 1973 after having lived in Florida and Charleston. He and Jackie were longtime members of Immanuel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Chuck was extremely proud of his service in the United States Navy as a SONAR Technician aboard the USS Trigger SS-564 submarine (1958-1962). Following his service, he embarked on a long and successful 33-year career as a Customer Engineer for complex mainframe systems for IBM. He established himself as a consummate problem solver and as a result earned 4 Distinguished Service Awards from IBM. The pride and joy that he found in his service and his career were evidenced by his proclivity to tell those he came in contact with about his experiences. He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts for over 30 years, not only as a Scout-father to two sons, but also holding many leadership positions, to include Scoutmaster. He mentored many boys as they made their way through the ranks of the Boy Scouts, even going to Eagle Ceremonies and standing with those who were without a father to stand with them. His favorite hobbies were bass fishing, camping, and wood carving. Chuck passed his dry and quick sense of humor down through the generations and is considered by his family to be the original "Dad Joke" guy. Always ready to deploy his quick wit, he was never without a zinger when those around him least expected it, often bringing needed levity. He was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be remembered for being a consistent, calming presence in his family's life. Survivors in addition to his wife include his sons, Charlie Hall (Aimee), and Joey Hall (Jacqui); his daughter, Amy Stephens (Shawn); his grandchildren, Savanna Stephens, Aaron Stephens, Ryan Stephens, Bethany Hall, Taylor Huff (Ryan), Joshua Holcombe, and Lydia Holcombe; his great grandchildren, Lilian Shirley, Arlo Stephens, and Huxley Huff; his sisters, Benita Sharp (Chuck) and Linda Crew (Jeff). He was preceded in death by his grandson, Kristopher Hall. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Charles Wayne Hall, please visit our floral store.
